Nasi Tibu

Local traditional rice and sticky rice cookies with coconut milk in bamboo.

A signature dish from Labuan Bajo, Nasi Tibu is essentially sticky rice cooked with coconut milk in bamboo and served with prawn and fish. This combination of fresh local ingredients and cooking methods creates a charming dish that’s bursting with flavour. If you’re looking for a sweet and satisfying taste of authentic local cuisine, this is a great place to start.

Nasi Goreng Xanadu

Squid ink fried rice , fried Egg gloss and crackers.

Ubiquitous and universally loved, nasi goreng means something different to everyone in our archipelago, but all are united by their love of this quintessentially Indonesian specialty. From the highlands of North Sumatra to Bali’s beaches, Kalimantan jungle camps to the Jakartan urban sprawl, every location adds their own flavour and a touch of local flair to this classic. At Xanadu, we have been inspired by our beachfront location in Labuan Bajo, and created a dish with just a hint of the ocean. Fried in squid ink and served with crunchy egg gloss and crackers, this signature recipe is like the restaurant itself; a special place where the land meets the sea.

Waecicu Soup

Traditional seafood soup with fish , prawn and mussel in lemongrass broth.

Named after the beach we call home, Waeicicu Soup has a lot in common with its eponymous backdrop. This traditional seafood dish is bursting with local marine fare, from fresh fish and plump, juicy prawns, to silky and succulent mussels; all are served together in a fragrant broth of lemongrass and local spices. This dish is a treat for seafood lovers, and a chance to sample the fruits of the ocean at our doorstep. Like the island of Flores itself, our Waecicu Soup is exotic, tropical and truly unforgettable.
