Plataran Announces Ecotourism Festivals, in Celebration of Indonesia’s Treasures

This month, in preparation for the launch of Plataran Treasure Hunt and True Indonesian Ecotourism Icon, Plataran Indonesia will hold a special program named Plataran Ecotourism Festivals from October 14-16 at Hutan Kota by Plataran Senayan Jakarta. The festival is one of many events taking place at Plataran resorts nationwide throughout October, in celebration of Indonesia’s most precious tourism treasures and traditions.

The festival will feature a dedicated area, showcasing Plataran as The True Indonesian Ecotourism Icon at Hutan Kota by Plataran Senayan Jakarta. Guests will discover an array of exceptional offers from Plataran Indonesia’s resorts, while also sampling several menu items that represent Bali, Bajo, and Papua – along with various other culinary icons from the eastern end of Indonesia, including Lontar Papua, Sei Asap Sapi, Ayam Betutu, Alu Ndene Bajo, and more. These exclusive menu items, highlighting culinary heritage from three regions of the archipelago, will be available throughout October.

As a leader in the ecotourism industry, Plataran Indonesia showcases the wonders of nature, culture, and community. Bringing these themes together under one concept, Plataran Treasure Hunt will be open to the public at both Plataran Menjangan and Plataran Komodo for the remainder of 2021. Plataran Menjangan (West Bali National Park) was recently voted one of the World’s Top Safari Destinations by the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Awards 2021; while Plataran Komodo, the Reborn Legend, offers an equally iconic destination for lovers of nature, culture, and community on the island of Flores.

Both award-winning destinations are true champions of global ecotourism, contributing to the development of sustainable nature conservation. Plataran Menjangan has consistently prioritized the preservation of endangered flora and fauna in protected forests, providing a natural holistic experience, while also preserving the cultural way of life of the local community and the spiritual traditions of the surrounding environment. Heading further east into Indonesia, Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa is a luxurious and comfortable resort away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Guests can choose from nine types of villas, including the newest – the Hanging Pool Villa – a duplex-style villa equipped with an infinity pool and stunning views of Waecicu bay.

No visit to Labuan Bajo would be complete without exploring the wonders of Indonesia’s marine tourism, both above and below the water. Using a fleet of traditional Phinisi ships and state-of-the-art yachts,  Plataran Private Cruises have received various national and international awards that recognize Plataran as the home of True Indonesian Sailing Experiences. One of the most iconic vessels is the Plataran Malayeka; the newest and grandest phinisi in the fleet, made in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. Measuring 37.8 meters in length and nine meters wide, Malayeka features seven luxurious cabins, with a capacity of 14 guests. Malayeka means 'angel' – a name which embodies the heavenly beauty of the ship and the oceanic wonders she explores.

From October 27-29, Plataran Indonesia will welcome PT. Freeport Indonesia and the Maramowe Weaiku Kamorowe Foundation to Hutan Kota by Plataran, in Jakarta’s Senayan area. These honored guests will be treated to an art exhibition and sale of artworks in celebration of Papuan culture, particularly the creativity of the Kamoro tribe. The event will begin with a welcome dance performed by members of the Kamoro tribe, followed by an in-depth introduction to their art and culture, then an auction and more dances, followed by a screening of a documentary that delves into the traditional artform of indigenous sculpture in Papua. In this way, Plataran Indonesia actively participates in the preservation and celebration of Indonesian culture, encouraging the empowerment and mobilization of Indonesian people towards a Golden Indonesia.
