In addition to carrying out business operations at various resorts, hotels, venues and dining, private cruises, and eco development in various areas in Indonesia, Plataran Indonesia often holds grand events to raise certain themes and issues while increasing awareness of a destination in Jakarta, Bali, Bromo, and of course virtually throughout Indonesia. This time, Plataran's theme is the issue of climate change. This theme is woven and combined with two elements that are part of everyday life, namely music and sports.

The Plataran Bromo Xtravaganza, one of the grand events routinely carried out by Plataran Indonesia this year, is back on September 10 and 11, 2022 with the theme “Music, Sports, and Climate”. This event combines national scale cultural and musical performances both offline and virtual (hybrid), sports from challenging marathons to fun easy walks, and is held at one of the ecotourism centers of Plataran Indonesia – Plataran Bromo Resort & Venue. Plataran Bromo itself recently received the 2022 Traveler's Choice Awards from Tripadvisor as the Top 25 Hotels for Families – Asia.

This event is held in conjunction with the Bromo Marathon on Sunday, September 11, 2022, where the Start and Finish lines are at Plataran Bromo as the Official Race Venue. Bromo Marathon itself is an annual running event in Tosari - Pasuruan Regency with a high reputation. First held in 2013, this event received a positive response, attended by more than 900 runners and 5,000 spectators from more than 30 countries, becoming one of the Asia's Top Destination Races 2013 by CNN. The marathon routes and paths this year are different from previous years, but still challenging and presenting amazing views that characterize the area around Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. More than 2,000 runners and 7,500 spectators are expected to participate in the Bromo Marathon this year.

For tourists who don't want to participate in the Bromo Marathon, Plataran will hold the Plataran Fun Trail – a fun and easy walk with 2KM and 4KM routes while enjoying nature trips, breathing fresh air and taking in the spectacular panoramic views above the clouds as part of Plataran's Friends of Nature program. The Plataran Fun Trail is none other than Plataran's efforts to bring people closer to nature, so that people are more concerned and willing to help make Mother Earth healthier and better prepared to deal with climate change.

The highlight of this event is the presentation of the Live Concert above the clouds 'From Bromo to the Archipelago' which will be held at Plataran Bromo - Putri Dewi Amphitheater perched on a hill with a magnificent view of Mount Arjuna, creating the feel of a show like no other, namely above the clouds. This event will feature a lineup of legendary singers such as Syaharani and Trie Utami, as well as a lineup of millennial artists from Surabaya, Malang and Jakarta. Collaborating with Don Sistem Suara Indonesia (DSS Indonesia), whose track record is unrivaled, begins with managing concerts by Indonesian and international artists such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Bruno Mars. Plataran Bromo Xtravaganza 2022 aims to raise the profile of potential young local artists from East Java, and encourage them to continue to maximize their artistic career potential to the international realm. This is not the first time Plataran has collaborated with DSS Indonesia. In 2021, Plataran Indonesia and DSS Indonesia had collaborated to hold an All-Star Legends Live Virtual Concert with legendary Indonesian artists and attracted more than 70,000 viewers.

Like all other Plataran events and occasions that are extremely important to the neighborhood and surrounding communities, this Plataran Bromo Xtravaganza event also upholds the ‘Plataran for the People’ program which is one of the three main pillars of Plataran's vision: nature, culture, and society through the Plataran MSME ecosystem. At this event, Plataran also presents a series of dishes whose raw materials are produced and harvested directly from the gardens of the surrounding community through a culinary festival, various kinds of merchandise and local handicraft goods from the Pasuruan Regency SMEs.
